Be it summers or any other season, cleansing is the basic and foremost step of skin care. In summers, it is must to clear off the dirt from skin using a good cleanser. Cleansing should be done twice a day.
Exfoliation
Summer is the time when you need to go for exfoliation at least twice to thrice a week. Use a good scrub for exfoliation which will remove all the dead cells from the skin. You can also use home-made scrub.
Moisturizing
When it comes to applying moisturizer, most of the women avoid it as they feel their skin get oilier with application of moisture in summers. However, you should always moisturize your skin irrespective of the season. All you need to do is just switch to lighter, water-based moisturizer for face as well as body. If you were using any heavy eye cream replace it with a lighter serum.
Sunscreen
Always remember to apply sunscreen before going out. A sunscreen with minimum of SPF 15 should be applied at least 15 minutes before moving out. If you continue to be outside for rest of the day reapply the sunscreen after every 2 to 3 hours and also after swimming. You should apply sunscreen even when it appears a cloudy day.
Summer Make-ups
During summers, simply say no to dark make-ups unless going for night parties. You should switch to lighter liquid foundation and mineral-based powder with SPF 15. Use light shades of lipstick and water-proof mascara.
Increase Your Water Intake
As summer hits, you should increase your daily intake of water. Try avoiding too much of oily and spicy foods instead go for light and water-rich fruits and vegetables.
